PROJECTS

As a multifaceted journalist and media professional, I have worked with a range of organizations on diverse projects spanning journalism, storytelling, media innovation, fact-checking, and community engagement. These experiences have allowed me to work across different formats and audiences, from investigative and solutions-oriented reporting to multimedia storytelling, research, and the development of innovative media tools.

Solutions Journalism Project

As part of my journalism internship, I developed a documentary and solutions journalism project exploring how access to the right information can transform smallholder farming in Uganda.

The story followed Mubiru John, a farmer with 25 years of experience in tomato farming, exploring his approach to land preparation, staking, harvesting, sorting and selling tomatoes.

The project also examined Population, Health and Environment (PHE) programs in Eastern and Central Uganda, highlighting how farmers are adopting more sustainable practices while improving their livelihoods.

Identified and interviewed sources
Conducted field reporting in Uganda
Developed interview questions and story outline
Wrote the documentary script and solutions story
Worked with a producer through production

The Mastercard Foundation Baobab Platform

Baobab Ambassador and super user sharing stories, on the Baobab platform, networking, taking courses and encouraging scholars and Alumni to join the the platform. I have also shared valuable feedback to improve the platform, organized events and info sessions, Q&A session where users ask any questions and receive the help they need or get a referral.

The Alumnet Magazine 2025-26 | Makerere University

I was a writer and later promoted to an Editor of the Alumnet Magazine.

I wrote various stories about leadership, giveback and peer mentorship. As an Editor, I gathered stories, edited them, and ensured that the editorial guidelines were followed.

We had a massive submission of stories the more we encouraged scholars to speak up and tell others about their incredible journeys.

Girls Alive Uganda – An initiative that trains and mentors young girls in school with the knowledge on making reusable sanitary towels and also empowers and equips them with Menstrual hygiene Mana

Our programs are tailored to equip all our primary and secondary beneficiaries including girls and boys, women and men, parents and teachers as well as local area leaders the knowledge and information that they need to support girls/women through menstruation. Baobab Alumni Changemakers Magazine Issue 1

This was the inaugural edition of "Changemakers: The Alumni Journey," a Mastercard Foundation Scholar Alumni Magazine!

The first issue was entirely crafted by alumni for alumni.

I met with Dr. Yeukai Milambo in Kigali Rwanda and I pitched the first Alumni Magazine. I had the opportunity to work on the project as the project lead, ensuring that we met the core vision and purpose of the magazine.

From coordinating with the Editor, writers and contributors, to promoting the call so that scholars and Alumni share their stories. I sorted submitted stories and also contributed to the magazine as a writer.
