Marion is a multimedia journalist, investigative reporter and storyteller currently covering local news in Los Angeles. She is a USC California Health Equity Fellow and a California Local News Fellow reporting for the Observer Group of Newspapers of Southern California. She was also selected for the National Press Foundation’s Widening the Pipeline Fellowship, a professional development programme that supports emerging journalists from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the media.

A graduate of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, Marion specialised in investigative and business reporting. Her professional experience includes working with the Berkeley Investigative Reporting Program, Bloomberg News and Richmond Confidential.

Marion is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Debunk Media Initiative, Uganda’s first fact-checking media organisation. The organisation combines artificial intelligence with human editorial review to verify information, counter misinformation and promote public access to credible news. She is passionate about using multimedia storytelling to amplify important stories, engage diverse audiences and create meaningful social impact.

She is also the founder of Girls Alive Uganda, a nonprofit organisation that empowers girls in rural communities through menstrual health education and practical reusable-pad-making skills. This work helps address menstruation-related school absenteeism and enables girls to participate more fully in their education.

Marion considers storytelling her superpower. She is inspired by bold communicators who investigate rigorously, uncover the truth and share factual stories that inform, engage and inspire society.
